Summary:
Essential Job Functions:
o Operate hand power tools common to welding such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc o Hold, clamp heat-bend, tack-weld or bolt component parts o Ignite and install torches, install torch tips, flux and filler rods within specifications o Weld using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron and other alloys.
o Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Required Minimum
Qualifications:
o High School Diploma or GED Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
o Knowledge of civil construction and characteristics of all equipment functions and operations related to the position o Knowledge of proper use of equipment such as welder torch, electrode holder; drill press, gas welding and welding electrode and etc.
o Skills in use of Computer/Laptop or other supporting devices commensurate with program and job applications o Ability to use time and equipment efficiently in order to complete projects on time o Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment o Ability to handle stress and possess positive trait even in difficult or challenging situations o Ability to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department o An outright commitment to an honest, safe, quality work product is a must Physical Demand/Work Environment:
