Quality Control Manager REPORTS TO:
Plant Manager PURPOSE / MISSION (ROLE):
To provide a point of contact and leadership to continuously improve our Quality performance.
Responsibilities:
o Develop and track measures for Quality Manage our efforts for quality certifications Communicate with entire organization regarding costs of errors Supervise inspectors Develop and manage continuous improvement activities for quality functions Lead efforts for Certifications and Audits COMPENSATION:
Pay will be established based upon the candidate's individual qualifications and history of performance and pay.
Minimum Requirements EDUCATION / TRAINING:
High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in quality related field preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in Steel industry or related field Minimum 2 years in a Quality Control role Minimum 1 year in supervision OTHER:
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings Thorough understanding of AWS D1.

8 Thorough understanding of Structural Steel codes and specifications Understanding of AISC's Building Standard and Structural Steel Quality Management Systems Desired Traits Agrees with and subscribes to Alamo Steel's culture Supervisory Training Working knowledge of computers and computer software, including Microsoft Office applications.
Production supervisory experience (This may be obtained by filling in for a supervisor on vacation, at training, etc.
) Possess teaching and training skills to perform one-on-one and group training.
Able to lead, motivate, and inspire employees to work within a team environment.
Certified Welding Inspector (certified in AWS D1.
1) Certified Level II or Level III NDT technician through ASNT Specific Tasks Manage Quality Control personnel Develop and implement staffing plans for Quality Control functions Manage Corrective Actions and associated documentation Manage Annual Audits, both internal and external Manage Quality Manual, Quality Procedures, and associated documentation Develop and perform quality-specific training including training for fitters, welders, inspectors, and painters Track non-conformances throughout the plant Track and report quality costs Perform annual training on AISC procedures Manage all aspects of the Quality Management System Develop initiatives to improve quality Manage Weld Procedure Specifications and Welder Qualifications Perform Ultrasonic Testing or develop Ultrasonic Testing with in-house resources Perform dimensional inspection, visual weld inspection, dry film thickness inspection, and other inspections as needed Commentary Alamo Steel believes that its supervisors are the key to the success of its employees and is dedicated to creating an atmosphere conducive to their growth, development, and recognition.
